The top-priced charity lot for livestock on AuctionsPlus for 2024 was Lot 5, a semen package for Hazelwood Conman, sold during the Campdraft for a Cure charity auction, held in Wandoan, Queensland.
The auction raised more than $82,000 on AuctionsPlus, with standout items including a Hazelwood Conman semen package, which sold for an impressive $29,000. The package, generously donated by Terry and Chris Hall, featured seven straws from the highly sought-after sire.
Another highlight was a shirt donated by No. 1 PRCA Saddle Bronc Rider Damien Brennan, signed by Brennan and other leading PRCA riders, which also drew significant interest.
The event saw remarkable engagement, with 998 logins recorded, including 451 unique users and 465 guests. The catalogue attracted over 4,200 views, demonstrating the widespread interest in the auction.
Online activity was competitive, with 44 active bidders placing 225 bids across 12 lots. Of these, six lots were successfully sold to online buyers.
All proceeds from the auction were directed toward raising critical funds for Syngap1 Research.
Aside from livestock, "Pilbara Brutus", a black-and-tan pup bred by Aticia Grey of Pilbara Working Dogs, claimed the title of Australia's most expensive working dog, selling for a record-breaking $50,000, making it the top priced charity item interfaced on AuctionsPlus this year.
