South-west QLD Feedlot up for grabs

‘Myranee Feedlot’ and ‘Maidenhead Station’ have been listed for sale by private treaty.

The commercial scale feedlot and mixed farming enterprise is located 36km south-east of Texas and 241km south-west of Brisbane, within the QLD and NSW Border Rivers region.

Water entitlements include 300MgL water allocation from the Dumaresq River, 494MgL of bore water licences across two bores, and 13km of Dumaresq River frontage.

The modern sheep and cattle feedlot is licensed for 10,000 Standard Cattle Units (SCU) and 9,000 Standard Sheep Units (SSU).

The property maintains the additional carrying capacity of 600 cows and calves, with up to 150 replacement heifers.

Water is secured further through five centre pivot irrigation sites totalling 106ha. The property has 340ha of dryland cropping, 1,612ha of grazing land and 1,471ha of timbered grazing land.

Further infrastructure includes a roller mill and 1000-tonne grain storage, cattle yards, sheep yards, shearing shed, machinery shed, weighbridge, office, two homesteads, manager’s residence and workers’ quarters.

"Golden Triangle" aggregation listed for EOI

‘Postmans Aggregation’ on the edge of the Golden Triangle region in the Gwydir district of north-west NSW has been listed for sale by Expressions of Interest.

The aggregation is located 39km north of Warialda and 94km north-east of Moree, and spans across four properties amounting to a total of 3497ha.

'Postmans’, ‘Brentwood’, ‘Yarran’, and ‘Yarran West’ played integral roles in the dissolution of Ceres Agriculture in 2018. At that time, Ceres Agriculture was one of the largest beef and cropping aggregations in the nation.

The aggregation has a carrying capacity of 21,000 DSE and an average annual rainfall of 685mm, with 62% of the land area under dryland cultivation and is securely watered from several independent water sources.

The aggregation has been conservatively stocked, carrying 590 mixed breeders and 630 yearling trade cattle.

Accommodation includes the primary four-bedroom homestead on ‘Brentwood’, an additional homestead on ‘Postmans’ and two other staff dwellings.

‘Postmans Aggregation’ is for sale by expression of interest closing Thursday, July 11.

Record-breaking sale: Queensland buyer acquires historic 'Clarevaulx Station' for $32.775M

Location: Inverell, NSW

An interstate buyer has set a district record by purchasing a longstanding mixed farming property in the NSW Northern Tablelands.

The McIntosh family ended its 123-year tenure by selling the 3427ha ‘Clarevaulx Station’, located 10km north of Glen Innes and 64km from Inverell.

The property passed in at auction for $31m in December 2023, and was later sold for $32.775m to a Queensland farming family expanding their holdings in northern NSW, according to the Weekly Times.

This deal equates to $9237/ha and it’s understood to be a record price for the Glen Innes region.

‘Clarevaulx Station’ has a four-bedroom homestead, with other notable infrastructure including three-machinery sheds, 600t of grain storage, a six-stand shearing shed, with two sets of sheep and cattle yards.

Upper Murray jewel listed for sale after 170 years

‘Gwendoline and Sandy Creek’, a mixed-farming property totaling 305ha located in the tightly held Upper Murray region of NSW, has been listed for sale by public auction. Held by the same family for 170 years, the property is being offered for sale via public auction on July 3, 2024.

Located at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, 10km south of the village of Tooma, 143km north-east of Albury-Wodonga, and 158km from Wagga Wagga, the region is recognised for its reliable seasons and strong spring pasture growth.

‘Gwendoline and Sandy Creek’ is well suited for cash/fodder cropping enterprises or livestock breeding and fattening. The property has the capacity to support 5,400 - 6,000 DSE or 280-300 breeding cows and calves.

The property consists of gently undulating topography with fertile, heavier red to brown granite-clay loam soils and benefits from dual creek frontage.

Offers over $12m considered for Come by Chance mixed farm

‘Midgee’ a 3,897ha mixed farming enterprise located 80km south-east of Walgett, in the broadacre cropping and grazing district of Come By Chance, has been listed for sale, with offers over $12m to be considered.

The property includes 2,000ha of cultivation over grey-black, self-mulching soils.

It also has established Buffel grass with reliable water security and has an already planted winter crop to be included in the sale.

Accommodation includes a four-bedroom homestead, three-bedroom worker's quarters, and a two-bedroom cottage. Additionally, it has significant on-farm grain storage, cattle yards, a wool shed, and machinery sheds.

Quality Coonamble country listed for EOI

Location: Coonamble, NSW

The mixed farming property ‘Sandhurst’ has been listed for sale by Expressions of Interest. The property is located 23km east of Quambone and 40km west of Coonamble.

It adjoins ‘Muttama Station’, a 12,500ha cropping and grazing property previously listed by Australian “wheat-king”, Ron Greentree, with price estimates worth more than $31m in September of 2020.

‘Sandhurst’ has been conservatively stocked, with the carrying capacity of the property estimated to run 600 cows and calves or 4000 ewes.

The land is predominantly flat, open country with shaded corridors. The soil types consist of heavy red and grey loam soils to lighter red and some sandy portions.

The property is watered from two sub-artesian bores and receives an average annual rainfall of 19 inches. Accommodation includes a three-bedroom homestead and a two-bedroom cottage.

Operational infrastructure includes a five-stand shearing shed, sheep and cattle yards. Expression of Interest for ‘Sandhurst’ will close on the June 27.

Top Aussie eggplant producer lists greenhouse trio

Location: Gippsland, VIC

‘Gippsland Greenhouse Produce’, has been offered to the market by the Hobson family after two decades of production.

The protected cropping business is one of Australia's largest eggplant producers.

Located on the Princes Highway between Yarragon and Trafalgar, the West Gippsland greenhouse also produces green tomatoes and truss tomatoes.

The property includes three glasshouses covering a combined area of 2.57ha divided into three zones. Each glasshouse is six meters high and equipped with high-pressure fogging screens.

Gippsland Greenhouse Produce is being offered for sale by Expression of Interest.
