The spring bull selling season hit full stride this week, with AuctionsPlus linking 25 cattle studs to buyers across the country and beyond. From the top of Queensland to the tip of Tasmania, online bidders generated strong competition, helping to drive impressive results and secure leading genetics across a wide range of seedstock operations.

Here are some of the standout sales from the week ending Friday, September 5.

Millah Murrah 2025 Angus Bull Sale

The Millah Murrah 2025 Angus Bull Sale has once again confirmed its reputation as one of the nation’s premier seedstock events, delivering remarkable results with a full clearance of 124 bulls and a sale average of $34,145.

The standout of the day was the $200,000 top-priced bull, secured by return buyers New Turee Pty Ltd, Cassilis.

Their purchase, Millah Murrah Vigour V414, was sired by Millah Murrah Trigger T308, who sold for $180,000 as a yearling at the stud’s 2023 sale.

The yearling bulls were particularly strong, with 49 selling to average $40,735 and peaking at the $200,000 top. The 57 bulls offered at 18 months sold to $150,000 and averaged $30,772, while the 18 two-year-olds topped at $40,000 and averaged $26,889.

Buyers responded to the evenness of the catalogue, with five bulls breaking into six figures, including a run of four in succession that each sold for more than $100,000.

Online competition was also strong, with AuctionsPlus reporting 238 online bids placed across 63 lots, representing keen activity on half the catalogue. The highest online purchase reached $44,000.

The top-priced bull of the day was ABC U754 (lot 33), a two-year-old red composite that sold for $24,000 to AJM Pastoral of Richmond, Queensland.
