Coonamble Angus' 'Show Time' shines at $72,000

The past week’s stud sales delivered strong results across multiple breeds nationwide, as AuctionsPlus interfaced 24 stud sales—further cementing the momentum of the Autumn stud selling season. Below are some of the standout results from across the country.

Coonamble Angus set the tone for the week with an outstanding result, now holding the record for the highest-priced bull interfaced through AuctionsPlus so far in 2025. The Coonamble Angus Bull Sale achieved a full clearance, with all 105 lots selling at an average price of $15,276. The sale-topper reached $72,000, with Lot 10—Coonamble Show Time U54—purchased by Arizona Farms, Lake Grace, WA.

The Banquet Angus Autumn Bull & Female Sale followed with equally impressive results. Of the 90/92 bulls sold at auction, reaching a top price of $64,000 for Lot 1—Banquet Uplifted U008—which was purchased by Camp Creek, Branxholme, VIC. The sale averaged $16,166. The female offering also performed well with high demand achieving a 100% clearance, with all 70 females selling at an average of $3,018.

To Book Book NSW, where the Injemira Annual Poll Hereford Bull and Commercial Female Production Sale gained strong attention across northern buyers. Three new sire lines drew strong interest, particularly the first son of New Zealand sire Matariki Neptune to be offered in Australia. In total, 66 of 78 bulls sold, reaching a top of $40,000 and averaging $10,909. The sale-topper, Lot 40—Injemira Neptune U152—was purchased by 3R Premium Angus Genetics. The 16-month-old bull out of Injemira First Day N063, was a maternal brother to the Australian record priced bull, Injemira Robert Redford Q287.

Meanwhile, in the offerings for female Hereford genetics, the Days Whiteface Mature Cow Dispersal saw strong demand, achieving an 85% clearance rate, with 63 of 74 Poll Hereford females selling at an average price of $5,064. The top lot, Days Fancy L180 (Lot 64), a 2015-drop cow, fetched the highest price of $17,000. She was purchased by Matariki Herefords, NZ, and Allendale Studs, Bordertown, SA. The sale attracted keen online activity with online buyers securing 11 lots across five successful bidders.

The Lindsay Murray Grey Production Sale 2025, held in Coleraine, Victoria, attracted strong interest from buyers nationwide. The sale topped at $19,000, secured by an online buyer from Western Australia. A total of eight lots were sold online, with purchases made by five successful online buyers.
