Panshanger Estate has been home to the Mills family since 1908, today the Father and son combination of George and Nicholas Mills run their mixed operation.

The operation includes an Angus herd supplying the Tasmanian feedlot market with steers, while a 19-20 micron wool operation supports their prime lamb operation. On the cropping side the family grow a range of cereal crops, seed crops including poppies, hemp, clover seed and various other seeds.

On the 29th of April, Panshanger are offering 144 mixed age cows. From Lawson Angus Bloodlines, George is proud of the animals they are offering. Aged between 3-4 years old and scanned in calf, it’s a great opportunity for someone to get their hands on fertile animals for their own herd.

When asked why George was selling the animals, he simply said “we’re running out of room” but digging slightly deeper, the reasons are as follows.

“We have a large group of heifers coming in and each year we have been reducing the age of the herd”
“These animals have plenty of years left in their breeding life and we’re making use of the best genetics through the Lawsons breeding program”

If you’re interested in viewing these animals, you can find them in the Friday Tasmanian sale starting at 9am on the 29th of April.
