The Rockhampton Leagues Club was abuzz with activity as the 1774 acres of ‘Bimbadeen’ was put up for auction. Selling agent Robyn Bentley said there was a lot of interest in the sale.

“We had three active bidders and it was sold to a family who have other property in the area,” she said.

The property sold for $4.6 million which Ms Bentley said was “very close to expectations.”

“The property was owned by Paul Lavaring and his mother Yvonne. Mr Lavaring has moved away,” she said.

“They still retain a neighbouring property which his son is on but just the vendor himself had relocated to Townsville.”

The three bedroom home on the property has been recently renovated featuring freshly polished floors, new paint, new kitchen and bathroom. There are six main paddocks. The internal fencing is mainly new with four barbed wires, while two boundary fences have also been recently replaced.

The property is well watered with three dams and a bore. Improvements include portable panel cattle yards, two 60 tonne silos and a hay shed.

Ms Bentley, who started her own business this year, said the market is still strong in central Queensland.

“I’ve been in the real estate industry since 2011," Ms Bentley said.

"It was a natural progression for me to start my own business.”
