North of West Wyalong in the tightly held Ungarie Ungarie-district, ‘Ripponlea’ has sold for over $5.6 million.

The 1056 hectare cropping operation headed to auction on October 14. ‘Ripponlea’ features highly fertile, strong red loam soils and has been managed in recent years as a cropping asset with no expense spared on inputs.

The property is sown entirely to canola this year, offering a very cost effective cereal opportunity for the 2023 season.

‘Ripponlea’ is two titles, each with their own water scheme connected and improvements, including machinery, shearing and workshop sheds, 300-tonne grain storage and steel sheep and cattle yards.

West Wyalong agent Will Dean from Nutrien Harcourts said the Attwood family has been dealing with the Dalgety/Nutrien Harcourts brand for many years.

“They’re 75 year old clients,” he said.

“Ripponlea has been in the Attwood family for all that time, and he said there was a lot of interest in the property. “

"Most of the interest was from locals, the road it’s on is very tightly held land.

"The people who brought the property are originally from Swan Hill. They bought property in the area a couple of years ago and they’re expanding that operation.”

He said some of the country in the area had been impacted by recent flooding but ‘Ripponlea’ hadn’t been affected much at all.
