Renowned for its prime bullock finishing qualities, Kilcoy property Brooklyn has sold after being held by the same family for four generations since the late 1800s.

Blue ribbon cattle property Brooklyn has been held by the one family since the 1890s over four generations and sits in the heart of Kilcoy's premier cattle country.

It was recently sold to a Condomine couple for over $16 million.

The purchase price paid is equal to $11,735/ha ($4749/acre).

Selling agent Mike Barry from Shepherdson and Boyd Real Estate said he was very pleased with the sale.

“It was an outstanding result for an outstanding property. We had 11 registered but only two active bidders, it all happened very quickly,” he said.

“It’s an exceptional property in a wonderful location. It’s only 85 kilometres to the Sunshine Coast and a bit over 100 kilometres to the middle of Brisbane.”

The property also features a 1920s high-set traditional Queenslander homestead in very good condition.

Other improvements include a two bedroom cottage, three machinery sheds, and a saddle shed plus two stables. The property is fenced into 10 main paddocks plus horse and bull paddocks.

Mr Barry said Brooklyn would safely carry approximately 600 breeders, 650 steers to prime, finished bullocks or 850 young cattle.

“Cattle properties remain very strong at the moment, especially quality cattle properties. This property has been in the family since the 1890’s and has been very well looked after.”
