With more than 80 years of combined farming experience Pat and Mick Cronin have sold Cronin Pastoral Aggregation in the central west of New South Wales.
The four Cronin properties are located around Trundle in central western NSW, which is about 55 kilometres north west of Parkes.
The aggregation was offered as four non-contiguous lots. It sold recently for $12.05 million in total.
The overall sale result is equal to almost $1900 per acre.
‘Woodview’ made $3.4 million, followed by ‘Brookfield’ at $3.1 million. ‘Glengarrie’ sold for $3.05 million while ‘Roseleigh’ made $2.5 million.
Selling agent Ainslie Toole from Nutrien Harcourts, Forbes, said the price overall was above expectations. “The top sale was 40% above the district record,” she said. “The land has been well managed for a long time and the result reflected that.”
The Cronin's are particularly well known for their high quality crossbred ewes. They decided to sell off most of the land they’ve purchased over half a century to semi-retire from farming.
“They still have their home farm, which is 50 acres,” Ms Toole said.
“So you could say they are transitioning into retirement. The original block that they still have was purchased by their father in 1949, so they’ve been in the district and buying properties since then.”
Ms Toole said two of the properties went to local neighbours and the other two farms were purchased by brothers from nearby Orange.
