The spectacular ‘Dunrobin’ on Central Queensland’s Fitzroy River has sold prior to auction for an undisclosed price.‘Dunrobin’ in South Yaamba is located 36 kilometres north west of Rockhampton.

It comprises 828 acres and an enviable 300 megalitre underground water allocation and two 12 megalitre allocations from the Fitzroy River.

It also has a million dollar house on it.

Selling agent Rod Harms from Rod Harms Rural said it wasn’t a surprise it sold before auction.

“The new owners were next door neighbours and they could see the value and the closeness to town where they have other interests was also a selling point,” he said. “I can’t give an exact price but it was between 4 and 5 million.”

The property has improved pastures including Gatton green panic and bluegrass supported by soft native grasses and legumes. There is established para grass and hymenachne along the lagoons and pondage areas. It is subdivided into 13 paddocks interconnected by laneways running to the centrally located cattle yards.

Hoteliers Grant and Rebecca Cassidy purchased the property. The couple are well-known in Rockhampton for their company Cassidy Hospitality Group.

Mr Cassidy was quoted in Beef Central after the sale.

“It’s a stunning place and we were familiar with it and the district,” Mr Cassidy said. “The fact that it has broadacre cropping opportunities, irrigation and pastures made it very appealing. We will use it to expand our beef cattle operation. It’s the perfect property for us to step into.”
