Set between Wauchope and Walcha in the upper reaches of the Manning Valley in Northern NSW, 6,000 acre ‘Eaglehawk’ has been sold.

After 79 enquiries and nine inspections, the iconic property ‘Eaglehawk’ went under the hammer with six registered bidders and sold for $4 million.

The fertile and picturesque piece of land is bounded by the Rowleys River and situated under the Yarrowitch Plateau in the Yarrowitch/Cells River District.

Eaglehawk features over ten kilometres of river frontage and is well serviced with numerous creeks, natural spring fed gullies and several dams.

Located a little over 100 kilometres from the regional city of Port Macquarie, selling agent Craig Hailes from LJ Hooker Wingham said there was a lot of interest in the property.

“The buyer interest ranged from cattle breeder expansion, to commercial timber harvest, carbon offset and lifestyle purchase.”

Hardwood timber harvesting on Eaglehawk provides income security with a substantial amount of millable timber on the property. He said the winning bidder was a family from outside the area.

“The purchaser was a family from the south coast of New South Wales who will look to live permanently at the property and focus on key infrastructure improvement,” he said.
