One of the Goulburn district’s most iconic and highly-regarded rural holdings has hit the market, after five years of significant capital works by the current owners.

A turnkey mixed farming operation featuring a grand homestead, two additional residences, and significant new working infrastructure, Trentham encompasses 443 hectares (1,095 acres) of fertile, productive land in a dress circle location.

Presented for sale by Inglis Rural Property, Trentham is located 20 kilometres from Goulburn and 220km south of Sydney on the Southern Tablelands of NSW.

The property comes to market benefitting from a significant capital works program over the past five years, resulting in an exceptional and complete agricultural, accommodation and improvements package.

Currently operated as a cattle breeding and wool production enterprise, Trentham is capable of carrying up to 1,200 Merino ewes, 130 breeding cows and 20 replacement heifers, totalling approximately 5,000 - 5,500 DSE.

A high percentage (90%) of arable, high-utility land has been extensively developed under professional management, utilising lucerne and improved perennial pastures.

Trentham’s strong history of fertiliser and soil amelioration is aimed at increased productivity and benefits from multiple revenue streams, including beef cattle, prime lambs, and cash cropping, supported by a reticulated water system and double frontage to the Mulwaree River.

Extensive working improvements include new steel cattle yards, new steel sheep yards, a four-stand woolshed, machinery shed, new three-bay hayshed, and a new three-bay workshop/machinery shed.

Its agricultural assets are second to none and presents as a dynamic farming enterprise, offering opportunities in further pursuits including annual cropping, equine, or stud operations, all accompanied by a strong element of lifestyle country living.

The centerpiece of the property is the sprawling double-brick homestead built in 1928 to a design by prominent architect E.C. Manfred that has been recently renovated, reinstating its timeless aesthetic.

Low maintenance gardens surround the homestead, with established tree plantings, manicured hedges, and a mix of new and established garden beds all watered by an automatic system.

In addition to the homestead, there are two fully renovated residences that would be ideal for either staff, family, guests, or as an Airbnb retreat.

Historically, Trentham was encompassed by the original Springfield estate (c.1827) - one of the most prevalent rural settlements of southern NSW.

Today, Trentham is an independent holding, offering its own unique charm.

The property is being offered for sale via online auction on Thursday, September 14 at 10am via AuctionsPlus.

The sale will be conducted in an online-only format, open for two hours, after which the timer and bidding activity will control the fall of the hammer.

Early bidder registrations are encouraged.
