Pathfinder gets back on The Box

Several years ago, Nick and Sara Moyle, principals of Pathfinder Angus, made the decision to move away from interfacing their annual bull sales online. They had seen a limited interest in buyers and online activity, they weren’t convinced it was the best solution for them.

Towards the back end of 2021, the Moyle’s were having a discussion with their local Nutrien Agent, they decided it was worthwhile looking at their options and in the lead up to their 2022 autumn sales, they reached out to AuctionsPlus.

“The point that I found really valid was just the number of farmers that were spending time online watching the auctions,” Nick said

“You get a fair bit of exposure by being on listed on it [AuctionsPlus]”

With the goal of achieving the best sale day outcome both in person and online, Nick recognised that the lead up to sale day was a really important. Being able to give prospective buyers not just the best information but the best opportunity to see the bulls, the decision was made to bring in a local videographer to video every bull and add them to the catalogue.

“[The videos] have been an absolute gamechanger to help give the buyers something to look at” he said

“It’s a fair undertaking but we had a number of clients buying via AuctionsPlus who had only viewed them online”

That extra effort has certainly paid off, achieving a massive clearance rate of 100% of the 250 angus bulls across both their sales. They had more than 664 users logging in to log 291 bids across their total offering of 247 lots on AuctionsPlus.

With three sales annually in South Australia, Victorian and Queensland, the Moyles will look to offer approximately 400 lots for sale in 2022.
