New England premium Wagyu breeders Trent Bridge Wagyu have purchased the block next door ‘Bambi’ for $6.95 million.
The family owned and operated stud has been producing high performing bulls for the Full Blood and First Cross market since 2005.
The property is located about half an hour drive north east of Armidale. Selling agent Andrew Starr from Ray White Rural Armidale said there was plenty of interest in the 923 hectare property.
“We had five registered bidders, four were active on auction day so it was a strong sale,” he said.
“The greater New England area is very much undersupplied at the moment for the demand we are seeing.”
The current owners developed the property for 23 years and sold it after they decided to transition into retirement.
“It’s a great opportunity for the next owners to further drive the levels of productivity on Bambi. The Perry family who run the successful Trent Bridge Wagyu Stud purchased the adjoining farm to expand their holdings,” he said.
The property is subdivided into 40 main paddocks to help with pasture management and mob rotation.
“It's beautiful breeder country,” Mr Starr added.
