‘Abercrombie’ in the renowned and tightly held Kernot district in regional Victoria has sold for $4 million.
After three generations well known South Gippsland cattle breeders and bullock finishers the McLaren family are selling its three properties.
Their Abercrombie property in particular is a superb, heavy-carrying grazing farm in Kernot encompassing 275 acres of renowned 'blue-gum' country with excellent rainfall.
The property features rich creek flats to rolling green undulating hills of fertile pasture, rich soils, dams, steel stockyards, central laneways, tree plantations and an original homestead.
Selling agent Scott Andersen from Andersen Property specialists said there has been a lot of interest in the Mclaren estate.
“Abercrombie is one of three farms I’m selling for the McLaren estate,” he said.
“Both Kernot farms sold really quickly and the Almurta farm, which is 355 acres, is already under contract .”
He said all three properties were by private sale.
“I actually managed the farm next door to the Almurta farm for 10 years and it is very fertile bullock fattening country. One bullock per acre and it also has excellent rainfall.”
