The agricultural sector is no stranger to labour supply issues and the dream tractor was designed to overcome these challenges.
1: CASE IH Autonomous Tractor
Robotic vacuums have become commonplace in many households, their hypnotic, soothing lines in the carpet a sight to behold. But will our farms also receive the same treatment in years to come? CASE IH believes so.
Resembling something from a battlefield, the most distinctive feature of the autonomous tractor is the lack of operator’s cab. It’s a nod to a future where CASE IH envisages producers controlling their operation remotely, heralding an end to long days in the paddock.
Whether it becomes the norm is yet to be seen, but the thought-provoking machine is certainly a head-turner.
2: Kubota Dream Tractor
The signature orange is there, but with its dazzling lights and futuristic design it’s a long way from the Kubota we’re used to. In fact, it almost looks like an oversized farm dog ready to hit the ground running.
Ticking off autonomy, Kubota took the extra step by adding four tracks to the ‘dream tractor’ and making it electric powered.
The agricultural sector is no stranger to labour supply issues and the dream tractor was designed to overcome these challenges. Rather than being pre-programmed by producers though, it’s AI operated. It knows what needs to be done based on data such as growth rates and weather conditions.
3: Eicher Colani Tractor
Looking like something a kid would have an absolute field day in is the Eicher Colani.
The eye-catching little machine sports the distinctive rounded look its creator, German industrial designer Luigi Colani is known for.
The Eicher Colani was designed as a narrow vineyard tractor, with a strong focus on aerodynamics. But with its very narrow entry and cab, drivers with claustrophobia need not apply. Or anyone with a bit of height or size for that matter. And as for reversing? There’s no rear view mirrors so probably best to give that a miss.
