Headed up by Gary and Netty Wendt and the Ray White Rural Gracemere team, the 2026 CQ Performance Horse and Yearling Sale delivered record results in its third year, backed by solid online bidding support via AuctionsPlus.
The sale ran over two days as part of the Ray White Rural Gracemere Performance Horse Sale and Campdraft, beginning with the 2026 CQ Gala Yearling Sale, followed by the CQ Performance Horse Sale.
Held at Paradise Lagoons near Rockhampton and interfaced online via AuctionsPlus, the event was headlined by a record-breaking result for the sale in the yearling ring. A roan filly, Make it Reyn, offered by Holly Clayden, Loomberah Lodge Performance Horses, sold for $115,000 to Mick and Hayley Hughes, Surat, who secured the purchase online.
The yearling sale returned a $456,000 gross, $25,400 average, with 18 of 31 horses sold, while fillies led the market.
The ridden horse sale followed with consistent demand, returning a $520,000 gross and $21,666 average from 24 horses sold.
The sale was topped by Iscotta Little Sugar (Lot 61), a 17-month-old chestnut mare sired by NRR Cat King Cole and out of Iscotta Little Chrome, which sold for $68,000 to NSW buyers James and Kate Henwood, Barkala Park, Illabo, who purchased online.
Online activity was strong across both days, with AuctionsPlus significantly extending buyer reach. The yearling sale recorded more than 1,000 logins, 48 active bidders and 11 lots sold online, while the ridden sale saw 725 logins, 28 active bidders and seven online purchases.
