Tim McRae is the Chief Economist for AuctionsPlus. Tim leads the AuctionsPlus’ Insights team and overseas the customized reporting and analysis of Australia’s livestock sector, providing market commentary, industry insights and forecasts for the Australian lamb, sheep and cattle industries. Tim also commissions and leads the research agenda for AuctionsPlus sentiment monitoring research, “The Gavel”. Prior to AuctionsPlus, Tim was the Chief Economist for Meat & Livestock Australia, including managing the National Livestock Reporting Service. As a Senior Executive, Tim also spent several years with the NSW Department of Primary Industries, directing the economic and analysis portfolio within the Strategy and Policy division.
