The Department of Agriculture has confirmed that Indonesia has temporarily suspended live cattle from a Northern Territory exporter, following suspected botulism deaths on board the Brahman Express.
A report and submissions about the experience of WA farmers were knocked back from being tabled in Parliament today as debate about the live export ban continues.
The Victorian Farmers Federation has lashed out at the Victorian Government’s proposed Animal Care and Protection draft Bill, warning that its "vague, subjective and ambiguous language” could allow the Government to “abuse this power.. for short term political goals.”
