AuctionsPlus Cattle Breed Breakdown – how did YOUR breed perform in the first quarter of 2022?

AuctionsPlus is Australia’s largest cattle market, with throughput for the first quarter of 2022 hitting 242,607 head – an increase of 21% on the previous year and 11% above the March quarter of 2020. In the previous calendar year, more than 814,000 head were traded through the online Auction system.

Given the comprehensive assessment and listing criteria for AuctionsPlus cattle sales, AuctionsPlus publishes specific breed pricing for the Australian cattle market. In this edition, additional historical data is also included – highlighting the amazing increase in prices across all breeds in the past few years. The nine breeds included in the pricing tables are the nine largest in number offered through AuctionsPlus, with Angus making up the largest proportion. Breeds included are Angus, Brahman, Brangus, Charbray, Charolais, Droughtmaster, Hereford, Santa Gertrudis and Shorthorn.
