AuctionsPlus lamb and sheep sales, scheduled for Tuesday 21st September have over 112,000 head on offer – steady with numbers from last week, but around 13% above the corresponding period last year. With five of the six lamb categories finishing up with very high clearance rates and largely steady prices last week, demand is expected to again be robust as the spring conditions take hold.

However, while total numbers on offer continue to be above year-on-year levels, the wait for the “big flush” of new season lambs continues. For the National Lamb Sale, commencing at 1pm EST, the 67,577 head catalogued across 221 lots 56% of the offering consisting of wether lambs and suckers.
