Bidding Ram-Page at the Online Only Cahmore Oaklea Ram Sale

Results from the 2022 annual Cashmore Oaklea ram sale delivered strong results across the board. Run as an online only sale since 2020, the sale offered 142 more rams than last year, with a total of 797 rams across three sales, the offering comprised of 520 Maternal Rams, 250 Cashmore Nudies and 30 Dorset Rams. Buyer confidence through the prime lamb and sheep industry aided bidding, as the auction achieved a 92% clearance rate across the offering, with 505 users logging in across the three sales.

Grossing over $1.68 million across all sales, average price results hit $2,139/head for the 504 Cashmore Oaklea Maternals, at a 96% clearance, while the 207 Cashmore Nudie rams sold to an average of $2,821/head, at 85% clearance. The 21 Poll Dorset rams sold to an average of $1,257/head and reached a 68% clearance.

Demand for Cashmore genetics across the nation was highlighted through the strength of interstate buyers, with 64% of the offering going to Victorian buyers, 17% heading to South Australian purchasers, 8% to Tasmania and 5% to NSW.

Nudie rams took out honours for the top price across this years sales, with Lot 679 – Tag “218460” selling for $13,400/head - exceeding last years top price by $4,200.
