The very familiar story in 2021 of widespread rain and enthusiastic buyers will again underpin a comparatively large offerings of cattle through AuctionsPlus three main commercial cattle sales on Friday 5th November. Given last week’s price jump through the young cattle lines, the 19,635 head offered this week will again bring some very healthy returns for vendors.
With the physical markets continuing to see prices nudging record levels, the recent run of more traditional spring weather has been broken by a widespread rain event, commencing mid-week through western regions. With falls forecast to deliver through to the start of next week, the search for quality young cattle to disappear back into paddocks will continue. Commencing at 9am, Weaner & Yearling Sale 1, focusing largely on northern cattle, has 10,348 head offered, with a unique offering of 124 Droughtmaster feeder steers from Port Hedland WA. Another highlight from Fitzroy Crossing WA, includes 1,812 head of Droughtmaster steers and heifers to be offered across 8 lots.
Weaner & Yearling Sale 2, commencing at 10am EDST, has a smaller offering of 4,621 of southern based cattle.
Quality, young proven breeding lines continue to be very scarce through the Eastern States Cattle Sale, commencing at 11am EDST, with 4,666 head offered. The rebound in PTIC cow and PTIC heifers registered last week, up $465 and $279/head, respectively, is expected to be maintained, provided buyers are willing to dig deep again into their pockets to secure limited numbers.
