Results for the 2022 Annual Mumblebone Merino ram sale, held today in conjunction with AuctionsPlus, smashed the record for Australian Merino sale averages, reaching $5,226/head across 394 sold lots – up $653/head on last year’s average.
The larger offering for the stud, up 100 lots on last year, failed to dampen buyer confidence and demand, with a 97% clearance registered. The 2022 sale also surpassed last years top priced lot by $4,000, with Lot 10 – “Tag 211564” topping the sale at $24,000.
Interstate demand for the Mumblebone genetics was highlighted through the online action, with the sale seeing 2,494 catalogue views and 378 users logged into the sale. Online bidders kept physical sale buyers on their toes, with bidders participating on 51% of the catalogue - resulting in 38 lots sold to online buyers across four different states and topping at $13,000 (Lot 2).
