The fourth annual edition of the JAD Speckle Park Bull and Female Sale, held on Friday April 1st, delivered outstanding results for the rapidly growing breed, underpinned by extensive catalogue views and user logins.

The sale was held using AuctionsPlus’ full interface package, which allows online participants to watch and follow along with the live sale held on property. Of the 644 users who logged into the sale, just over half were active bidders, while 45 of the 96 lots offered sold to online buyers.

Demand from bidders both online and on-site made for a hotly contested sale, with stud bulls selling to a top of $55,000 and averaging a breed record of $23,000/head. Commercial bulls averaged $17,000, registered females averaged $15,333, and pens of PTIC commercial heifers sold to a top of $7000, averaging $4,962/head. At the conclusion of the auction, online purchases totaled $778,000, with lots going to every state in Australia, and the entire sale offering grossed $1,763,400. Results for the 2022 sale easily exceeded previous years, highlighting the overall higher cattle market in 2022, along with continued demand and growth within the Speckle Park breed in Australia.

As early adopters of the AuctionsPlus platform in 2012, the use of the online platform in recent years for the JAD Speckle Park Bull and Female Sale has been a huge benefit to the stud, according to the vendors. “Using the AuctionsPlus platform in conjunction with our physical sale is a ‘no brainer’, with our stud looking to target the commercial bull buyer,” said co-principal of JAD Speckle Park, Amy Dickens. “Savvy beef producers use the AuctionsPlus platform to purchase and sell in commercial sales throughout the year, and they are our target market.

“Providing good quality photos and videos of all lots as part of the AuctionsPlus catalogue gives both new and existing clients the confidence to bid on sale day,” Mrs Dickens said. “One of the major attractions for us to the AuctionsPlus platform is the ability to advertise on the platform in the lead-up to sale day through website advertising that is placed directly in-front of our target audience and a national audience on sale day”. The JAD Speckle Park AuctionsPlus catalogue was viewed 4979 times, with the stud’s pre-sale advertising campaign playing a significant role in generating this traffic.
