Results for the 9th Annual Tattykeel Australian White Stud Sale, held in conjunction with AuctionsPlus, produced record prices for the second consecutive year, highlighting the sustained run of the breed since 2021. This year’s sale saw 647 lots offered, with the increased catalogue failing to dampen buyer demand. Lot 218, 122kg “ET 210184”, born in April 2021 topped the sale and broke last year’s meat breed Ram record selling for $240,000. The sale also surpassed the Australian White ewe record, with $26,000 for Lot 4 “ET 210146”, born in April 2021 SIL to Tattykeel 200085 with 20 embryos by Tattykeel 210153.
While the increased offering saw overall averages decline slightly on last year, the strength of the sale highlights the continued confidence in both the Australian lamb industry and the Australian White breed - with the average price per lot reaching $10,170, with clearance reaching 76%. 214 Australian White ewes averaged $6,361, topping at $26,000, reaching a 69% clearance, while the 420 lot ram catalogue registered an average of $11,828 with an 80% clearance.
Online catalogue views for the 2022 sale reached 4,063 views, with the continued national interest in the breed helping to spur online activity, with 43% of the catalogue receiving online bids resulting in 115 lots sold online - to a top of $90,000 (Lot 219). 1,364 users logged in to watch the sale, seeing lots heading interstate to Victoria, Queensland and South Australia
