Strong online presence at record breaking Nutrien Classic sale

Spread across 5 action packed days the 15th Nutrien Classic performance horse sale held in Tamworth, NSW has seen Australian records smashed. Following the conclusion of the sale the total gross was $17,136,000 with an incredible clearance of 92.13% and overall average of $27,113.92 which is the biggest and strongest in the history of the Classic.

Online activity sparked continuous bidding and successful purchases across the five days with 442 registered AuctionsPlus buyers purchasing a total of 62 lots across the sale. Successful buyers covered an expansive area - stretching as far as Tasmania and Western Australia. Total catalogue views across the duration of the classic were 18,886 which brought in 2,487 bids over the five days.

A standout of the Classic was the incredible ‘Bad In Black’ three-year-old mare which broke all Australasian records for a performance horse to sell for $550,000. The Australian Quarter Horse, sold by Holly Clayden from ‘Loomberah Lodge Performance Horses’ went to ‘Willinga Park’ from Bawley Point.

The top horse purchased by an AuctionsPlus buyer was ‘Metallic Flash’, a three-year-old Quarter horse filly offered by Tom Williamson which sold to a buyer from Charters Towers, QLD for $92,000.

Averages were strong across all categories with mares averaging $33,862, geldings averaging $18,751 and stallions averaging $37,666/head.
