White-hot Prices at 8th Annual Tattykeel Ram Sale

The results from the 8th Annual Tattykeel Australian White Stud Sale, held in conjunction with AuctionsPlus, produced record prices for the vendors and complemented the breeds run of amazing highs throughout 2021 – with the final sale exceeding $5.6 million. With the catalogued 400 lots sold sequentially online, buyer interest was extremely high throughout the sale, with the 119kg “ET 200113 Tw”, born in April 2020, topping the sale at a meat breed Ram record $165,000 selling to an online bidder from South Australia.

Underlining both the confidence in the Australian lamb industry and the Australian White breeds phenomenal growth, the average price per lot for this sale was 81% above last years sale, at $14,141.

Online, catalogue views for the 2021 sale jumped to 9,633 views, up from 5,941 in 2020. With the expansion of the interest in the breed, active online bidders also jump significantly, from 12 in 2019, to 33 in 2020, to 72 in 2021 – with 89% of the lots attracting an online bid and 147 of the lots selling to online buyers.
