Yarrawonga Santa Gertrudis tops at $85,000

This week’s stud spotlight shines on the Santa Gertrudis breed, with Yarrawonga Cattle Co’s top-selling sire setting a new benchmark as the highest-grossing Santa Gertrudis bull interfaced through AuctionsPlus this spring stud selling season.

 

TheYarrawonga Santa Gertrudis Bull Sale’ hit a season high for Santa Gertrudis bulls interfaced through the AuctionsPlus platform, achieving this seasons the top price of $85,000 for the breed. 

The top priced sire YARRAWONGA U616 (lot 9), was purchased by NSW stud breeder Col Patterson, Hardigreen Park Santa Gertrudis Stud, Wallabadah.

The second top priced achieved at the sale set the pace of the day, as Yarrawonga U706 (lot 3) was purchased onsite for $75,000.

The sale achieved full clearance with 148 classified S bulls and commercial bulls offered selling under the hammer at an average of $12,723.

The online presence was spirited via bidders on the AuctionsPlus platform with 17 lots sold online to four successful online buyers. The online purchases topped at $24,000 (lot 25).

 

The annual 5 Star Senepol Sale & Adapted Taurus Bull Sale’ achieved strong results, with seedstock being secured to buyers across the country.

The sale topped at $28,000 with the purchase of the Senepol bull 5 STAR 230846 (lot 15), purchased by Mark Bettini, Bettini Beef, De Gray Station, Port Headland, Western Australia.

The Senepol bulls averaged at $12,018 while the Senegus male counterparts topped at $16,000 to set a $11,333 average. The Senelais bulls sold to a top price of $17,000 to average $12,166.

Online bidders purchasing through AuctionsPlus secured eight lots across four successful buyers. The top price lot online was purchased for $13,000 (lot 68).

 

The ‘Moongool 31st Annual on Property Bull Sale’ proved another strong week of results for the Charolais breeders, with sale topping at $75,000.

The top selling sire was MOONGOOL MR T539 who was sold for $75,000 (lot 17). The  22-month-old bull was purchased by a partnership of Gympie's Elridge Charolais stud, owned by Ross and Paula Warren and the Goodland family of Clare Charolais at Theodore.

The sale achieved 95% clearance with an overall sale average of $15,154. The online action was strong with 15 lots secured to online buyers. The online purchases topped at $20,000 twice, with the purchases of lot 5 and lot 118.

 

The Bongongo Angus Spring Bull Sale’ achieved champagne clearance across the 106 bulls offered. The sale topped at $19,000 twice with the purchase of BONGONGO U1542 (lot 99) and lot 105. Overall, the sale achieved an average price of $11,226. There was a keen online presence throughout the sale with 11 lots secured to online buyers, with one of the top priced bulls purchased through the platform (lot 99).
