Along with taking out the highest price during AuctionsPlus’ monthly cattle stud and genetics sale, held on Friday June 3rd, Southern Cross S15 also set a new record high for a yearling Hereford bull – just two days after turning 12 months old.
Southern Cross’s greatest strength was that his “looks match his performance”. According to the assessment descriptions, “the bull boasts a balance of incredible thickness, weight for age and sound structure, with an ideal EBV profile. Top 1% for all dollar Index’s, +2.3 for birthweight, +112 for 600-day weight and +1.9 for intramuscular fat”. Free of all genetic disorders and parent verified, S15 was comprehensively performance recorded, including carcass scanning, docility and genomics.
This is the third year that Tobruk Beef have been selling their bulls through the AuctionsPlus monthly genetics sale.
