Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) is searching for a new Managing Director after Jason Strong’s resignation late last year.
The recruitment of the significant leadership position in the Australian red meat and livestock industry is being handled by Pacific Search.
MLA Chairman Alan Beckett said it was an exciting opportunity for a proven senior executive who will work with a skill-based board and an organisation with a global presence, delivering outcomes for the Australian red meat and livestock industry.
“MLA’s purpose is to deliver world leading outcomes that fuel global competitiveness, sustainability and producer profitability,” Mr Beckett said.
“The Managing Director will develop, refine and implement the company’s strategic plan, identifying key priorities in alignment with the industry strategic plan, Red Meat 2030.
“They will also engage heavily with stakeholders at all levels and have excellent supply chain knowledge.
“This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative industry, working with a dedicated and passionate team.”
MLA services the red meat industry through innovative research, development and adoption programs and effective domestic and international marketing and market development programs.
Mr Strong had been in the position for almost five years before he left the organisation on December 22.
MLA Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Ferguson, is the interim Managing Director.
Applications close on February 2.
