A 3,067-hectare freehold property in Central Queensland, positioned 33km northeast of Bauhinia, 70km west of Moura, and 233km southwest of Rockhampton, has hit the market with a price guide in excess of $22m with estimates of $1,157-1,295/ha.

‘Deepwater’, owned by the Fairweather family, is promoted as having robust carrying capacity supported by well-established improved pastures and legumes. The Fairweather family occupied the property for backgrounding cattle.

Listed by Brad Hanson of Hourn & Bishop Qld, Deepwater has fertile soils rich with brigalow, blackbutt, bonewood, crows ash, and softwood scrub, in an area known for its heavy carrying capacity and quality cultivation, Deepwater has a Queensland Government PMAV vegetation map in place.

Deepwater has modern steel cattle yards with an undercover vet crush and cradle.

Additionally, there is a 2,500 tonne on property grain storage with a dryer, as well as on-property airstrip. The property is subdivided into 13 paddocks supported by a water square and central laneway system.

With a permanent water supply from Zamia Creek, further notable infrastructure includes secure water with three large dams and one lagoon.

Accommodation is ample with a four-bedroom home, a three-bedroom manager's home and workers' quarters.

SA station remains in family after almost 7 decades of ownership

The Weekly Times is reporting the the 3,345-hectare Keilira Station in the South East region of South Australia has been sold within one of Australia’s biggest farming families for an undisclosed sum. 

The sheep and cattle property was offloaded by one branch of the extended McBride family and will become part of the AJ & PA McBride wool growing portfolio.

In adding the station, AJ & PA McBride have increased their total landholding to 1.4m hectares across SA.

The property, located 34km north-east of Kingston and 294km from Adelaide, was originally listed for sale last spring with Colliers and Elders as the joint selling agents.

The McBride family offered it on a walk-in walk-out basis after owning it for more than 60 years. They did not provide a price guide for the sale.

The Keilira Station comprises more than 2,000ha of heavy grazing flats with a carrying capacity of 28,000 dry sheep equivalents.

According to the listing, the property has extensive accommodation and working infrastructure, a high-quality natural resource base, an excellent balance of topography, ongoing pasture improvement and input history, as well as being in a reliable rainfall region with 540mm annual rainfall.

Choice cropping country sold by family after more than century 

Reliable cropping country in the St Helens Plains district south-east of Horsham has recently sold after auction. After three generations of conservative farming, the Hill family sold 133ha to neighbours.

Farmonline reports around $10,000/acre was paid at auction for some of the most reliable cropping land in Victoria’s Wimmera.

The property highlights included bitumen road frontage on two sides and it is located about 20 minutes from Horsham and east of the Grampians National Park.

The gradually undulating plains country primarily consists of self-mulching clay and is suited to all types of cropping enterprises.

Rocky Springs listed for sale for first time in 70 years

 

A 898ha sheep and cropping property in WA’s Lower Hotham has entered the market at a price of $12m.

Rocky Springs is reportedly sparking interest from both farming and corporate parties.

Rocky Springs is located in WA and is suitable for sheep, cattle and cropping. 

The property, spanning 13 lots and holding 10 different titles, has been held within the same family since the 1950s, and is being listed by John Hetherington at Raine & Horne Great Southern.

Priced at $12 million via private treaty, Rocky Springs is 50km from Western Australia's largest abattoir, 80km from Mandurah and 160km from Perth.

The holding offers a variety of soil types and extensive infrastructure with an average annual rainfall of about 630mm.

Rocky Springs is protected by vermin-proof fencing and is well-suited to its current pursuits of sheep and conservative cropping according to the listing. The stocking capacity is estimated at about 10,000 sheep or up to 800 head of cattle.

While Rocky Springs is being sold as a single entity, the presence of multiple titles provides the option for subdivision in the future.
