A total of 5,667 head of goats were offered across the four weekly commercial sales held during June- back 20% from May. Prices were mixed for the month with the largest listing lines increasing on last month whilst key categories eased from May, however quality lines continued to return robust prices. Overall clearance for the month reached 84%- back from 95% in May. Top listing regions across the month consisted of the NSW Central West (1,855 head), Southern Queensland (1,317 head) and Western Queensland (1,245 head).

On the purchasing side, the proportion of states securing commercial goats significantly shifted this month. NSW recorded the largest change in purchases from the month of May, with the total proportion of purchases decreasing from 53% to just 18%. Queensland purchases accounted for 51% of goats sold across June with Southern and Western Queensland securing 1,429 and 1,195 head, respectively. Victoria registered a considerable lift in goats purchased online- accounting for 31% of goats sold, up from 1% in May which was driven predominantly by processors.

Rangeland does were the largest category for the month with a total of 2,278 head offered. Prices ranged from $130 to $169/head to average $158/head or 588c/kg lwt - up $26 from last month with clearance rates reaching 73%. From Cobar, NSW the top price for the category consisted of 330 head of one-six-year-old Rangeland does weighing 25kg lwt which returned $169/head or 665c/kg lwt to a buyer in Bingara, NSW.

Rangeland bucks had a total offering of 1,573 head listed with prices ranging from $122 to $135/head to average $131/head or 554c/kg - a rise of $19 on last month. Clearance rates for the category reached 100% with demand driven by processor activity. From Surat, Queensland two lines totaling 840 head of rangeland bucks aged 7-8-months and weighing 34kg lwt returned $135/head and will travel to Victoria.

First cross Rangeland/Boer bucks averaged $120/head across the 285 head offered- back $5. From Thallon, QLD a line of 7-12-month-old wethers weighing 20kg lwt returned $120/head and will travel to Burnett Heads, QLD.

First cross Rangeland/Boer does saw a total of 550 head listed, selling between $190-225/head to average $204/head with a 100% clearance reached. A highlight included 165 does aged six-eight months weighing 18.5kg lwt from Dubbo, NSW which returned the top price of $225/head or 1,216 c/kg.
