Weekly Sheep & Lamb Comments - Week ending Friday 29nd March

AuctionsPlus commercial sheep and lamb listings fell 13% to 51,497 head this week and was met with a 75c/kg rise to the AuctionsPlus restocker indicator known as ARLI which is now sitting at 633c/kg. There was also an 11% rise of the crossbred lamb indicator to $128.

There was a nine percentage point jump in the clearance rate to 59%, however Value Over Reserve rose by $5 to average $11 across all listings.

Weekly Cattle Comments - Week ending Friday 22nd March
AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings fell by 30% this week to 12,434. The smaller offering saw good take-up by buyers however, with clearance rebounding 23 points on last week's poor showing to 59%. Prices for benchmark steers 280-330kg rose by 8% while value over reserve also jumped $53 points to $76. The AuctionsPlus young cattle indicator also rose 23 points.

AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings fell by 10% to 16,743 head this week. The average values over reserve measure extended by $16 to $96/head, indicative of strong competition within lots that were favoured by buyers.
