Goat listings on AuctionsPlus over the last two weeks eased 13% from the previous fortnight, totalling 5,081 head. The sale on August 10 carried most of the numbers, with 3,472 head offered, while the following Tuesday sale on August 17, had 1,609 head. New South Wales was the largest listing state, accounting for 83% of the catalogue, with most being offered from western NSW.

Clearance rates also eased from the previous reporting period, reaching 83% of the total offering. Purchasing was dominated by NSW for the fortnight, taking the top spot from Queensland. Western NSW bought 37% of total sales, while the next largest purchasing region was Southern Queensland, claiming 694 head.
Rangeland does were again the most populated category, with the 1,835 head offered registering a 100% clearance rate. The does sold between $125 and $180, averaging $143/head - back $8 from last fortnight.

The top priced lot was a line of 265 Rangeland does, with 200 kids at foot from Nymagee, NSW. The mixed age does averaged 27kg, with kids at 11kg - will travel north to Cunnamulla, QLD. From Milparinka NSW, a line of 600 station mated Rangeland nannies, 3-9 months old, averaging 29kg, returned $125/head.
There were eight first cross Kalahari/Red Boer bucks from Bollon, QLD offered - which attracted a flurry of bidding activity. They sold between $1,200 and $1,600, to average $1,427/head, well above their reserve of $500. The bucks were 10 months old, weighed 45kg, and will travel to both St George, QLD and Pallamallawa, NSW.

Across the last two weeks wether goats increased in supply, with the 760 head listed achieving a 100% clearance rate. A notable highlight was a line of 70 Rangeland wethers from Dubbo, NSW which returned $157/head. They were 8-12 months old, averaged 39kg, and will travel to the Southern Tablelands of NSW. There was a larger line of 690 Rangeland wethers from Milparinka, NSW, 3-9 months old, averaging 29kg, which sold for $99/head.
