[Clone for website testing only] INDICATORS: NYCI lifts, EYCI falls in fairly steady market (Clone)

The National Young Cattle Indicator (NYCI) has climbed this week by 7.02c to 387.23c/kg liveweight on Friday morning. It has lifted 12.72c on the previous month and is up 71.50c on the same time last year.The NYCI is a seven-day rolling average of young cattle sold across all NLRS-reported saleyards and Australia’s suite of online livestock marketplaces.

NSW Online sales again accounted for the largest portion of the calculation at 17%, averaging 439c/kg Liveweight.

In the NYCI, Yearling steers were the largest category included, with a head count of 6,989, averaging 399.50c/kg, a 3.17c/kg price fall from last week.

Meanwhile, the Eastern States Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI), a seven-day rolling average of young cattle from 23 saleyards across Queensland, NSW and Victoria, was sitting at 720.80 cents per kilogram dressed on Friday morning, down 13.35 for the week, up 32.44 from a month ago and up 110.80 on last year.

In the sheep market, the Restocker Lamb Indicator was sitting at 875.21 cents per kilogram dressed on Friday morning, up 13.40c week on week. The Heavy Lamb Indicator fell to 972.87, a decrease of 31.70 for the week after a more than 100-cent increase the previous week.

The Merino Lamb Indicator jumped this week by 44.96c to 846.22 cents per kilogram, meanwhile the Mutton Indicator jumped to 634.56 cents per kilogram dressed, an increase of 18.24c/kg week on week.
