Stud ram sales interfaced through AuctionsPlus remained in full swing over the week ending Friday, September 26, delivering strong results and several standout prices. We take a closer look at some of the highlights below.
The 12th Annual Tattykeel Australian White Stud and Flock Sale, set the tone of the week early as Tattykeel “Beast” ET 240067, was purchased for $80,000.
Originally catalogued as Lot 2, the sale-topping ram was brought forward to open proceedings. The 137-kilogram April 2024-drop ram, sired by Tattykeel ET 220018 and out of Tattykeel 210540, is a grandson of the record-setting $240,000 Tattykeel Platinum.
Beast attracted rapid bidding, beginning at $20,000 before quickly climbing to the top price of $80,000. He was eventually knocked down to Regal Australian Whites of Inverell, with Tattykeel retaining 400 doses of semen for its own program.
Tattykeel’s overall result was outstanding, with $1,229,700 grossed across 248 head to average $4,958. Online buying was again influential, contributing $248,250 to the takings at an average of $3,705.
In the breakdown of the catalogue, 25/26 stud rams averaged $18,909. A total of 177/198 flock rams were also cleared, achieving a top price of $9,000 and an average of $3,816. In addition, 78/98 ewes offered were sold, with the top-priced ewe, Lot 267 Tattykeel 240736, purchased by Aitken Australian Whites for $5,250, while the ewe draft averaged $2,363.
The online top price was $16,000, while 67 lots were sold entirely through the digital platform. In total, 23 online bidders placed 294 bids across 55% of lots.
To Cobar, NSW, where the Etiwanda White Dorper Spring Ram Sale generated a strong results with successful online bidders hailing from three states. The catalogue of 118 head averaged $2,756, with the top price reaching $6,500 for Lot 12.

Online buyers were highly active, securing 29 lots at an average of $2,103. The highest price paid online was $3,250 for Lot 39, while bidding occurred on 107 of the 118 lots with 318 bids placed.
Six online bidders were active, with three ultimately successful, reflecting the growing reliance on digital competition.
Bellevue’s Annual Dorper and White Dorper Ram Sale at Millmerran also achieved standout online results. Across the 111 head offered, the sale averaged $2,162, with the top price of $4,000 being achieved by an online buyer for Lot 55.
In total, online buyers secured 64 lots, at an average of $2,034. Sixteen online bidders placed 355 bids across the catalogue, with more than 50% of lots sold online. The balance between physical and online participation ensured strong clearance and competitive pricing throughout the event, with rams selling across Queensland and into NSW.
Meanwhile, the Yanco White Suffolk Stud Ram Sale maintained momentum with steady demand across the offering. A strong onsite crowd was complemented by enthusiastic online participation, with 30/43 rams, or around 70% of the catalogue, sold through AuctionsPlus.
The sale topped at $4,900 for Lot 10, who sold to an online bidder in South Australia.

Onsite bidding was supported by a team of students who assisted with the flow of the sale, creating an energetic atmosphere and smooth delivery.
