Located on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula at the mouth of the River Murray, The Grundy family is selling 1,907ha “Mundoo Island Station” after more than a century of ownership.

The station is made up of three islands “Mundoo Island”, “Ewe Island”, and “Long Island”. The islands are within the Coorong, Lakes Alexandrina and Albert Wetlands area, UNESCO-designated “Ramsar site” due to its biodiversity and conservation importance.

“Mundoo Island Station” was first established in 1843 and has operated as a sheep and cattle property since then. The property supports a commercial herd of Angus cattle, Dorper sheep and an eco-tourism operation.

It is the only pastoral property that sits where the River Murray meets the Southern Ocean, flanked by both fresh and saltwater systems.

“Mundoo Island” (1197ha), is the largest of three islands and includes 885ha of freehold land and 312ha of perpetual leasehold land. "Ewe" and "Long Islands" total about 710 ha and are both held under perpetual lease.

"Mundoo Island Station" is for sale by Expression of Interest closing Wednesday September, 25.

$50m expectations for multigenerational Tasmanian sheep station

For the first time in over 70 years, “Logan” an historic Tasmanian sheep property has been listed for sale.

Offered by the Peltzer family, “Logan” is an irrigated, dryland cropping and grazing operation located in the Northern Midlands region.

The property is being offered for sale by Expressions of Interest. However, The Weekly Times reports the marketing agents are suggesting a selling price of around $50 million.

The property includes 602ha of centre pivot irrigation, large catchment dams (2,200ML capacity) with an additional 600ML water licence. Additional land has been earmarked for further irrigation development.

A standout feature of the property is the entirely gravity fed irrigation system, with a network of strategically placed dams, optimising efficiency by eliminating the requirement for pumping.

Vendor, Michael Peltzer, said irrigated white clover and brassicas are grown as fodder for Logan’s high-performance composite prime lamb flock.

Notable infrastructure includes a modern five-stand Perkinz Shearmaster shearing shed and undercover yards (1,100 head capacity).

Accommodation includes a five-bedroom homestead, four dwellings, shearers quarters and a hunting lodge.

“Logan” is being offered for sale by Expressions of Interest closing Thursday, September 12.

Mammoth Goondiwindi grain receival site and cropping enterprise listed for EOI

The “Carpendale Portfolio” an institutional-scale dryland cropping opportunity, grain receival site and transport/logistics fleet, in the highly-regarded Border Rivers region of southern Queensland, 30km north of Goondiwindi has been listed for sale via Expressions of Interest.

Located on the northern side of the Macintyre River, the portfolio spans across five holdings, known as “Manus”, “Tingan and Nomby”, “Bendidee”, “Carpendale” and “Mayfair”.

Extensive land class development to dryland cropping with 12,259 ha (89%) of arable land currently producing wheat, barley, canola and sorghum, with the balance comprising grazing and support land.

Notably, the portfolio includes a significant grain receival site with 175,000 tonnes of bunker storage and 6,230 tonnes of elevated silo storage, as well as an extensive transport/logistics fleet

Development has been approved for a 20,000 Standard Cattle Unit (SCU) feedlot on “Nomby”, which is supported by beneficial access to licenced bore water comprising 120ML of Surat Hutton groundwater and 35ML of Gubberamunda groundwater.

Improvements and operational infrastructure include multiple residences and staff accommodation, a weighbridge and associated infrastructure, further grain storage, as well as machinery/storage shedding, workshops, offices, and an airstrip.

Additional scale and operational efficiency is available via adjacent leasehold land which incorporates a further 5,627ha, of which 97% is arable.

Expressions of Interest for the “Carpendale Portfolio” will close Thursday, September 5.

Flexible farming opportunity for sale in Bogan Gate

Located near Parkes in the Central West region of New South Wales, the property offers flexibility in enterprise selection including breeding and finishing prime lambs.

“Ashford Heath” supports 9,000 Dry Sheep Equivalents (DSE) in addition to current levels of dryland winter cereal production. The property has 77% of arable land with the balance being native pastureland, grazing hills and remnant timber.

The property has been fenced into five main paddocks with secure water supply via the Darcoola Joint Water Authority, and strategically positioned tanks and troughs.

Notable infrastructure includes a four-stand shearing shed with adjoining yards, steel machinery shed and workshop.

Accommodation includes a two-bedroom cottage with adjoining garage.

The property will be offered via the AuctionsPlus online platform on Thursday, September 12. The sale will commence at 11.00am. All intending bidders are required to pre-register with the selling agent prior to the sale.
