The largest week of commercial sheep and lamb sales since the first week of April, up 32% on the previous week, at 68,724 head, was met with mixed results, delivering no clear trend. While crossbred and first cross ewe lambs averaged higher at the close of the auctions, both main Merino categories were back, as composite/other breeds registered a 100% clearance rate.

An increased offering of light steers was matched by voracious interest out of southern Queensland this week, as overall AuctionsPlus commercial cattle numbers jumped 8%, to 19,543 head.
Following a reduced offering last week, sheep and lamb numbers for the regular Tuesday commercial sales rose by 15%, with 52,228 head listed across the two sales.
Despite clearer conditions, overall cattle supplies were subdued again this week, with AuctionsPlus commercial cattle offerings easing to 17,326 head – back 7% from last week.
A total of 45,316 head of sheep and lambs were offered across AuctionsPlus commercial sheep and lamb sales this week – a 21% decline in listings from last week.
