It’s that time of the week when we check in on some key indicators of performance in the livestock markets.

The Eastern States Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) fell this week. It was sitting at 861.26c/kg cwt on Friday morning, a decrease of 11c for the week and down 37c from a month ago.

Meanwhile, the National Young Cattle Indicator (NYCI) has held firm, lifting by 1c/kg to 469c/kg on Friday morning. It is down 3c on the previous month and up 116c on the same time last year.

The National Feeder Heifer Indicator (NFHI), which offers a dedicated lens into the feeder heifer market, was sitting at 412c/kg on Friday morning. It’s 9c down on last week, and 25c on the previous month.

The Processor Cow Indicator also fell over the past week by 10c, and was 378c/kg on Friday morning. The top three contributors to this indicator were Dubbo, Roma Store and Wodonga.

Now, let’s turn to the sheep and lamb markets.

The Online Sheep Indicator (OSI) lifted to $327/head, which was $85/head higher than last week, and $95/head higher than a month ago.

The AuctionsPlus Restocker Lamb Indicator (ARLI) held steady at $204/head, or 496c/kg LW and 1,124 c/kg DW, maintaining its upward momentum.

The Light Lamb Indicator lifted 4c to be 1,028c on Friday morning, which was 26c lower than last month.

The Restocker Lamb Indicator fell 34c to be sitting at 1,063c, which is also 77c back on a month ago and 329c up on this time last year.

The Heavy Lamb Indicator dropped 7c this week to be 1,075c. This is 83c/kg back on a month ago.
