Strong results across stud cattle and equine sales on AuctionsPlus

The past week’s stud sales delivered strong results across multiple breeds nationwide, with AuctionsPlus interfacing 15 stud cattle and three equine sales —further cementing the momentum of the autumn selling season. From annual sales to one-off dispersals, this week’s stud offerings had spirited online bidding and competitive prices. Below are some of the standout results from across the country.

To Condobolin, where Wrigley Cattle Co Bull Sale achieved full clearance and reached their top price three times over. The sale returned an average price of $10,651 and a top of $16,000 (lot 1, 22 and 52). Return clients Peter and Allan Stuckey, Murtonga Pastoral, Homesworth, Condobolin, secured the first sale topper, Wrigley U11.

Son of Tehama Testament and out of Wrigley S34, the 21-month-old weighed 816 kilograms with an estimated breeding value (EBVs) in the top 10 per cent of the breed for a scrotal circumference of +4.3. Three lots were purchased online to two successful bidders, including another one of the sale toppers Wrigley U203 (lot 22).

Heading west to Boyanup WA, where the Mordallup Angus Bull Sale returned a 91% clearance rate and acheived a top price of $21,000 twice (lot 12 and lot 15). The sale achieved an average price of $8,567, and a top online price of $10,000.

Jade Park Angus Bull and Female Sale where all female sold at auction, were purchased by AuctionsPlus buyers. Amongst a challenging season, the vendors said they were pleased to have cleared 37/47 bull and 8/12 heifers on the day. The sale returned at top price of $15,000 (lot 3), with eight lots selling online to three successful bidders.

Meanwhile, it was an exciting weekend of equine sales across the AuctionsPlus platform with two sales attracting high clearance driven by strong online bidding activity. AuctionsPlus secured the top priced lot at the Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale, with lot 32 purchased for $34,000. In the breakdown, Colts returned an average price of $13,725 and Fillies averaged $13,187.

Heading to Inverell where the Swan Cup Ashs Sale topped at $36,000, and closed with an average price of $12,783. Online bidding activity was spirited with 63 active online buyers present. However, there was 33 successful bidders who secured 23 lots online.
