Meet the dynamic team of young agribusiness professionals powering one of Australia’s cornerstone events for emerging beef industry leaders - the Young Beef Producers Forum (YBPF), set to return to Roma, Queensland, on November 13.

This year, 12 passionate individuals from across the country are combining their diverse expertise to deliver a two-day event dedicated to education, networking, and capacity building for under-40s in the beef sector. Each member brings a unique perspective - from law and finance to consulting, marketing, and hands-on beef production - united by a shared vision to strengthen the future of Australian agriculture.

Chairing the committee for the second year is Tom Copley, an IP Lawyer who also works within his family’s beef enterprise, Copley Pastoral, based at Anduramba in Queensland.

Mr Copley said he’s thrilled to see months of planning come together as the industry prepares to gather in Roma next week.

“I’m really excited for this year’s event - we’ve put together a fantastic line-up of speakers and sessions that will challenge, inspire and connect young people from across the beef industry,” Mr Copley said.

“It’s been a privilege to work alongside such a diverse and skilled group of young leaders on the committee.

"Everyone has brought their own strengths and ideas to the table, and it’s been great to see that passion turn into a program we’re all incredibly proud of," he added.

The 2025 Committee

  • Tom Copley – IP Lawyer / Family Beef Business

  • Janine Firth - Business Operations Manager, Specialist Sales
  • Izzy Graham – Flight Nurse, Royal Flying Doctor Service

  • Harry Mackenzie – Paramedic / Family Beef Business

  • Sally Finch – Analyst, Teys Australia

  • Maddie Morgan – AgriBusiness Lawyer, Hamilton Locke

  • Georgia Waters – Graduate, Australian Agricultural Company

  • Jess Paton – Ag Consultant, Agrista

  • Josie Copley – Ag Marketing, Copley Pastoral

  • Sally Argue – Associate, NAB

  • Trent Jackson – Manager, Stuarts Creek

Developed with guidance from the Future Farmers Network (FFN), the Young Beef Producers Forum continues to serve as a vital platform for young people connected to the beef industry, whether they’re running cattle, working in agribusiness, or simply passionate about the future of agriculture.

In 2024, the forum celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of inspiring young leaders. The 2025 event promises to be even bigger and better, with the theme ‘Paddock to Possibility’, exploring how innovation, sustainability, and collaboration can drive growth from the ground up.

Last year also saw the introduction of the Tim Emery Bursary, honouring one of YBPF’s longest-serving contributors.

For more than 14 years, Tim Emery dedicated his time as an FFN Director and YBPF Committee member, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all delegates.

The bursary provides one young Australian the opportunity to attend YBPF with all major expenses covered - including registration, travel, and accommodation.

This year, Zoe Sibley, a graduate with Stanbroke based in North West Queensland has been named this years bursary recipient.

The Young Beef Producers Forum 2025 is set to deliver another inspiring program filled with insights, networking, and skill-building sessions designed to empower the next generation of industry leaders.

Whether you’re a producer, work in agribusiness, or have a passion for Australia’s beef industry, this year’s YBPF is an unmissable opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to the future of Australian agriculture.

AuctionsPlus will also be interfacing the charity auction on Thursday night, with all proceeds being donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
