A Western Australian stock agent has chalked up a perfect sales record in her first two AuctionsPlus sales, with four lots of Moojepin Merino future breeder ewe lambs selling successfully at her most recent sale this week.

Annabelle Broun, a trainee agent with Nutrien Ag Solutions based in Gnowangerup, completed her AuctionsPlus assessor accreditation earlier this year and has hit the ground running, achieving a 100% clearance rate across both sales she's participated in to date.

Her second outing on the platform was this week and featured four lots from two vendors sharing the same Moojepin bloodline. Two Western Dale lines sold to Elders Bunbury and will remain in WA, while two lines from the Thompson family headed east to South Australia, with the top line reaching $311/head.

Ms Broun said the online platform made sense for stock with a following beyond state borders.

"Because it's a non-mulesed Merino, there's quite a lot of interest over east," she said. "Moojepin, in their annual ram sale, do sell a lot going east, so they probably figured that if you find those sorts of rams over there, then it makes sense that they probably want some future breeders as well."

Ms Broun said for her becoming an AuctionsPlus assessor was about giving her clients more options.

"I just wanted to have another platform that I could market clients' sheep on," she said. "If that involves putting them online and spending a few more hours marketing them, then why not?"

She noted the process was straightforward, and that the accreditation course, completed earlier this year, had equipped her well. Support from experienced agents through the parallel assessment process, which is part of the accreditation, had also helped build her confidence.

She also flagged an unexpected upside: exposure to a national buyer pool of farmers and agents keen to connect with the west.

"I had so many questions from Eastern States guys that have probably been agents and farming for longer than I've been alive," she said.

AuctionsPlus Business Development Manager Zoë Macfarlan said over the past 18 months AuctionsPlus had run two assessor courses for Nutrien agents in Western Australia with more than 30 agents attending.

"Annabelle was signed off at the most recent course and has been keen to put her new accreditation to use," Ms Macfarlan said.

"It is always exciting when a new assessor comes through, but even more so when they back it up with results for their clients straight away.

"We see plenty of opportunity in WA and having engaged, capable agents like Annabelle using the platform well is something we strive for."

With two sales down and all lots sold, Ms Broun's pleased with the results for her clients. Keep an eye out for more of her lots in upcoming sales.
