AuctionsPlus recently hosted a workshop in Sydney, where agents and assessors were schooled on the latest tools and features rolled out on the platform — and shared valuable feedback to help shape the platform's future. If you couldn’t attend or are new to AuctionsPlus, here are some key takeaways you need to know.

Machinery Auctions

The fortnightly Multivendor Machinery Auction on AuctionsPlus continues to surge in popularity. Designed as an additional revenue stream for agents, the sale provides another service to offer clients. The average number of catalogue views per sale has now surpassed 30,000—an increase of 5,000 compared to last year’s fortnightly average.

One in every five agents who lists on AuctionsPlus has participated in this sale, highlighting its growing traction within the industry.

AuctionsPlus Business Development Manager - Machinery, Matt Cotton, walking through ways to optimise listing machinery on the platform.

In response to the growth, AuctionsPlus has launched a Machinery Agent Accreditation course, aimed at helping agents enhance their skills and build buyer confidence.

According to AuctionsPlus Integrity Lead, Chloe Pike, "trust is everything at AuctionsPlus, which is why we've created the Machinery Accreditation Course".

The online, self-paced course takes about one hour to complete and provides agents with an Accredited Machinery Agent badge, which will appear on all machinery listings across the platform. The course covers vendor requirements, machinery inspection processes, and best practice marketing for high-value items — all designed to lift professionalism and protect buyer trust.

Mobile App

In 2024, AuctionsPlus relaunched its mobile app, catering to a user base that is increasingly mobile. Now, more than 60% of AuctionsPlus users access the platform via mobile devices. Available on both Apple and Android, the app undergoes regular updates with new feature releases.

Why should you download the app? According to AuctionsPlus' Product Manager, Steven Jaffrey, it’s a “one-stop shop”. Users can connect to auctions on the go, while also accessing centralised tools, dashboards, news, and insights, in one convenient location.

LiveAssess Speeds Up Assessment Entry

Another major focus was LiveAssess, the mobile solution that simplifies livestock assessments. Integrated directly into the AuctionsPlus app, LiveAssess allows agents to capture data on-site — whether online or offline — and seamlessly upload it to the platform.

Business Development Manager Oliver Hoare demonstrated the new integration between LiveAssess and Gallagher.

"With this update, users can now connect their phone directly to the scales to easily capture animal weights and quickly import all their crush-side assessment data into an AuctionsPlus assessment, often within minutes of returning to their computer," Mr Hoare said.

"It was great to hear feedback from agents, with strong interest in how the system can operate offline and the significant time savings it could deliver when entering data."

Instead of manually retyping data, agents can now export the session file from their weighing indicator (such as TruTest or Gallagher) to their computer, and import it into AE when entering an individual assessment. When you reach the “weights” tab within AE, simply select Import Weights to upload.

This process can make assessment entry up to 70% faster, helping assessors auto-populate fields, reduce errors, and integrate with scales for smoother, more efficient listing preparation.

StockCo

AuctionsPlus and StockCo by Heartland Bank have launched Australia's first digital livestock finance partnership.

StockCo’s finance is now directly available through the AuctionsPlus platform, which will simplify the purchasing process and offer agents and producers a smart connection to livestock financing.

AuctionsPlus Chief Executive Officer Wyn Snyman said embedding finance into the platform made livestock purchasing easier, faster, and more accessible than ever before.

"We’re always looking for ways to make AuctionsPlus better for our customers, and this partnership with StockCo is an exciting step forward," Mr Snyman said.
