The Dunoon Angus Spring Bull Sale in Holbrook, NSW, crowned the highest-priced bull interfaced through AuctionsPlus this year, with DUNOON T1361 selling for an impressive $225,000.
Nicknamed "Bob", the September 2022-born sire was purchased by Gilmandyke Pastoral, Orange, NSW. Described as “very quiet” with a strong spine, exceptional body width, and an outstanding front end, Bob weighed 808kg as of August 26, 2024.
This sale shattered Dunoon's previous record, surpassing the 2023 top price of $125,000 for DUNOON S603 by $100,000. The 2024 sale achieved a robust average of $14,432 across all bulls, with eight lots secured by online bidders.
Conducted by Elders Albury, auctioneers Lincoln McKinlay and Ryan Badjada brought the hammer down on Bob’s milestone sale, solidifying Dunoon’s dominance in the stud bull market.
The second-highest-priced bull through AuctionsPlus came from the Cascade Poll Hereford and Angus Annual Bull Sale. CASCADE TOSCA T042 sold for $110,000 at Currabubula, NSW, to Nutrien Ag Solutions' Peter Godbolt, bidding on behalf of Glendan Park. This sale more than doubled Cascade's previous record of $52,000, set in 2022.
