The top-priced property to be sold via AuctionsPlus in 2024 reached new limits when a prized irrigation property in the NSW Wee Waa-Namoi Valley district fetched an impressive $23.65 million.
The 518-hectare property, Jungaburra, located 40km northwest of Narrabri, included nearly 2300 megalitres of water entitlements and was offered by Namoi Valley farmer Sean Revell.
The online auction, held on Thursday, 11 July, attracted four registered bidders, three of whom were active. The auction 74 bids before it was knocked down to the top bidder.
Bidding opened at $15 million and climbed steadily to the final sale price, with a significant portion attributed to the value of the water entitlements.
The successful buyer, a private local farming family from the Namoi Valley, plans to integrate the property and its substantial water resources into their existing operations in the renowned irrigation district.
