Mayura T1474A (ET) claimed the spotlight in 2024 as the top-priced heifer interfaced through AuctionsPlus, selling for an impressive $130,000 at the Elite Wagyu Sale.Bred and offered by the de Bruin family of Mayura Station, Millicent, SA, the heifer was sired by Mayura Quantum and ranked in the top 1% for MS and SRI, and the top 5% for EMA. She was purchased by Santos Patronos Ranch, owned by the Thomas family, in Seguin, Texas.
Held during the Australian Wagyu Association’s WagyuEdge conference in Cairns, the auction showcased some of the breed’s finest genetics. The sale averaged $15,655 per head, achieved a 77% clearance rate across 71 lots.
The online catalogue was viewed 4,770 times with 14 lots sold online to top at $32,000.
There were 583 logins to the online bidding platform during the sale, with 31 active online bidders, who made 56 online 161 bids across 56 lots.
Successful online bidders came from Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
The sale agents were Ray White Rural Dalby.
