AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings rose by 57% this week to 9,664 head. This larger offering was met by very strong demand to deliver a 92% clearance, while value over reserve leapt $67 to average $186. It was green almost across the board with only two categories registering price falls. The positive weather is clearly bringing confidence back into the market with lighter weight steers and heifers recording both significant price rises and very high clearance rates.

Offerings registered rises in all three stock categories, with steers leading the way at 92% above last weeks levels, totaling 5,217 head while heifers jumped 33% to 2,552 head and breeding stock were up 31% at 1,803 head. 

Interstate purchasing was strong this week with 35% of the sold offering being purchased from outside of the listed state, while processer and feedlot buyers continue to fill orders through the online platform with 6.75% of the sold offering being secured.

Of significant note this week was the number of heavier lines of steers offered with 903 head or 33% of the total offering of steers, being made up made up of 400kg+ lines. It didn't affect competition, with all steers returning better prices than last week.

AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings slipped this week to 8,788 head, decreasing by 10% on last week. Clearance also fell 6 percentage points to 34% and value over reserve fell by $10 to average $49/head.
