The last week of November saw AuctionsPlus sheep and lamb listings slip below the 100,000 head mark, with 90,115 head offered – easing 37% on last week, as some producers took the opportunity to hold back the sale of stock because of the current subdued market conditions.

Listings were led by Southwest Victoria this week, with the region offering 33,584 head.
Post-sale negotiations played a key role in raising overall clearance rates in the 48 hours following Tuesdays’ commercial sales.
Following the immediate closure of the auction, clearance rates for the sale reached 43%.
The National Lamb Sale registered a total of 38,976 head, with the smaller offering seeing clearance rates reach 90% - up from last week’s 76%.
First cross ewe lamb listings increased by 18% on last week, with 5,612 head offered.
The traditional momentum for spring selling continues to be “bogged”.
Composite/other breed lamb listings tripled on last weeks offering, reaching 3,570 head.
Lambs continue to dominate the weekly offering, with new season lambs accounting for 68% of the market.
