The 2025 stud selling season has started strong, with demand for highly sought-after genetics driving high clearance and new top prices across multiple ram sales. Over the past week ending Friday, February 14, AuctionsPlus has interfaced 10 sheep stud sales, achieving impressive results across the board. Here are some of the highlights:

Tattykeel's southern NSW Australian White sale has set the top price for a ram interfaced through AuctionsPlus this year, with two stud rams making the top price, each selling for $17,000.

Based in Tarcutta, NSW, the sale opened with strong results for stud rams, reaching a top price of $17,000 (lot 1 and lot 3).

Lot 1 was sold to Thornbush Australian White, Goulburn, NSW, while Lot 3 went to Aitken Australian White, Bundarra, NSW. All seven stud rams sold, averaging $11,571.

There was strong online participation throughout the sale, with 19 lots purchased by five successful buyers. The highest-priced lot sold online was a stud ram, which fetched $12,000.

Flock rams were once again a highlight in the south, with 78 of 100 selling under the hammer, and post-sale activity expected to lift that figure further. The top price was $6,000 (Lot 11), with an average of $3,429. Stud ewes saw steady demand, with Lot 111 and Lot 119 topping at $2,750. Of the 20 offered, 17 sold, averaging $2,147.

To Millmerran, Queensland, where the Bellevue Annual Online Dorper & White Dorper Ram sale attracted more than 4,400 catalogue views, with lots secured across the eastern states.

The sale closed with an 89% clearance rate, reaching a top price of $6,000 (Lot 62) and an average price of $1,770 per head.

Heading south to Armidale, the Alfoxton Poll Merino stud sold rams to four states at its annual on-property sale on Monday, with repeat clients dominating the bidding.

Last year's top buyer, Peter Reimers of Pearsby, Stanthorpe, Queensland, returned to claim the highest-priced ram again. He purchased Alfoxton 23-0157PP, a homozygous poll son of top industry sire RP17-1133PP from the Roseville Park flock.

Of the 64 lots offered, 51 sold, averaging $1,941 and reaching a top of $4,500. Five lots were purchased online by two successful bidders.
